Texty sends WordPress, WooCommerce, and Dokan SMS through a gateway you control. Texty Lite has four gateways, built-in alerts, Quick Send, logs, and key stats. Texty Pro adds 12 automations, OTP phone checks, and SMS consent tools.
Setup and costs
Section titled “Setup and costs”Does Texty send SMS itself?
Section titled “Does Texty send SMS itself?”No. Texty builds each SMS and sends it through your gateway. You need a gateway account first.

Who charges you for each SMS?
Section titled “Who charges you for each SMS?”Your gateway bills you for each SMS. Texty does not sell SMS credits. It adds no fee to each send.
A Pro license is a separate cost. Ask your gateway about rates, rules, and account limits.
Which SMS gateways does Texty support?
Section titled “Which SMS gateways does Texty support?”Texty works with:
- Twilio
- Vonage, formerly Nexmo
- Plivo
- Clickatell
Developers can also add a custom gateway with Texty hooks.
Can you save more than one gateway?
Section titled “Can you save more than one gateway?”Yes. You can save more than one gateway. Only one can be on at a time.
That gateway sends each new SMS.
Does Texty need WooCommerce?
Section titled “Does Texty need WooCommerce?”No. Texty can send new user and comment alerts on any WordPress site.
WooCommerce is needed for tools tied to orders, products, checkout, or store buyers. Dokan is needed for vendor order alerts.
Does Texty work with Dokan?
Section titled “Does Texty work with Dokan?”Yes. Texty can alert a Dokan vendor when an order status changes. It works with processing, complete, cancelled, failed, and refunded orders.
The SMS uses the phone saved in the vendor’s Dokan store profile.
Does Texty support WhatsApp or Telegram?
Section titled “Does Texty support WhatsApp or Telegram?”No. Texty does not send through WhatsApp or Telegram by default. Its built-in gateways send SMS.

What is the difference between Texty Lite and Texty Pro?
Section titled “What is the difference between Texty Lite and Texty Pro?”Texty Lite has gateways, 18 alerts, Quick Send, SMS Logs, key stats, text templates, phone rules, and site-wide controls.
Texty Pro adds:
- 12 SMS automations
- OTP checks at checkout, registration, and phone updates
- SMS consent capture and saved consent records
Texty Pro is an add-on. Texty Lite must remain installed and active.
What can Texty automations do?
Section titled “What can Texty automations do?”Texty Pro has 12 automations in six groups. They cover payment help, stock and price alerts, review requests, buyer follow-ups, account safety, and store alerts.

Can Texty schedule an SMS for later?
Section titled “Can Texty schedule an SMS for later?”Texty has no calendar for a one-time send at a set date. Some Pro flows can wait after an event.

Can you send one SMS without a site event?
Section titled “Can you send one SMS without a site event?”Yes. Use Quick Send on the Texty dashboard for a one-time SMS.
For a gateway check, use the test tool under Texty > Tools instead.
Can you customize Texty messages?
Section titled “Can you customize Texty messages?”Yes. You can edit the text for each alert or automation. Variable tags can add the order ID, buyer name, total, or site name.
Use only the tags shown for that event. A tag from another event may stay as plain text.
Consent and OTP
Section titled “Consent and OTP”Why are Automations, Consent, or OTP missing?
Section titled “Why are Automations, Consent, or OTP missing?”Make sure Texty and Texty Pro are active. Your Pro license must also show Active under Texty > License.
Reload the WordPress dashboard after the license becomes active. Use how to activate your Texty Pro license if the tools are still missing.
Where can Texty verify a phone with OTP?
Section titled “Where can Texty verify a phone with OTP?”Texty Pro can ask for an OTP at checkout or signup. It can also verify a new billing phone number.
Each flow has its own switch. All flows share the code style, SMS text, expiry, and resend wait.
Does SMS consent stop Texty messages?
Section titled “Does SMS consent stop Texty messages?”No. Texty records the buyer’s choice. It does not use that choice to block an SMS.
Use the right send rules for each type of SMS. Texty cannot confirm that your wording meets each rule for your store.
Does Texty save consent for guest orders?
Section titled “Does Texty save consent for guest orders?”No. Texty saves the choice only for a signed-in buyer. It does not save one for a guest order.

Can customers reply STOP to unsubscribe?
Section titled “Can customers reply STOP to unsubscribe?”Texty does not read SMS replies. A STOP reply does not change Texty on its own.
If your SMS asks for a STOP reply, set up and test that flow with your gateway.
Logs and delivery
Section titled “Logs and delivery”What do Sent, Failed, and Pending mean?
Section titled “What do Sent, Failed, and Pending mean?”| Status | Meaning |

| Failed | The gateway returned an error. |
| Pending | The record has not reached a final Sent or Failed state. |
Sent does not prove that the SMS reached the phone. Check your gateway report for the final result.
Where can you review Texty messages?
Section titled “Where can you review Texty messages?”Open Texty > SMS Logs. You can search, filter by status, view full details, and save the results as a CSV file.

What does Texty need to run?
Section titled “What does Texty need to run?”Texty needs WordPress 6.8 or later and PHP 7.4 or later. WooCommerce and Dokan are only needed for tools tied to them.
