What is Texty?
Texty is an SMS plugin for WordPress and WooCommerce. It sends store alerts, order updates, and automated messages through an SMS gateway that you control.
Your site gives Texty a reason to send a message. Texty prepares the message, sends it through your gateway, and saves the result in your SMS Logs.

How does Texty send an SMS?
Section titled “How does Texty send an SMS?”- An event happens on your site, such as a new order or failed payment.
- Texty checks whether the matching alert or automation is active.
- Texty prepares the message and finds the right phone number.
- Your connected gateway sends the SMS.
- Texty saves the send result so you can review it later.
Texty is the link between your site and your SMS provider. It does not sell SMS credits or add a fee to each message. Your gateway bills you for the messages it sends.
What do you need before you begin?
Section titled “What do you need before you begin?”- A WordPress site and administrator access.
- An account with Twilio, Vonage, Plivo, or Clickatell.
- WooCommerce if you want order alerts or store automations.
- Dokan if you want SMS alerts for marketplace vendors.
- A Texty Pro license if you need automations, OTP, or consent tools.
You only need one SMS gateway. You can save settings for more than one provider, but only one can be active at a time.
Does Texty change your store right away?
Section titled “Does Texty change your store right away?”No. Installing Texty does not send messages or change your checkout by itself. First, connect a gateway. Then choose the alerts, automations, or Pro features you want to use.
Your normal WordPress and WooCommerce emails can still run. Texty adds SMS as another way to reach people.
Where should you start?
Section titled “Where should you start?”- Install and activate Texty on your WordPress site.
- Connect your first SMS gateway and send a test SMS.
- Turn on one store alert and test it with a real site event.
- Check the result in Texty > SMS Logs.
Best first setup: Connect your gateway and test a store alert. This checks the full path from your store to the recipient’s phone.
