Getting Started

Get Texty ready to send SMS from your WordPress or WooCommerce site.

If you are new to Texty, start here. You will learn what Texty does, install the plugin, connect your SMS gateway, and get your site ready to send its first message.

You do not need to configure every Texty feature at once. Complete these three steps first.

Texty connects WordPress and WooCommerce to an SMS gateway that you control.

Learn what you can do with Texty, how messages are sent, which features are available in Texty and Texty Pro, and what you need before you begin.

Start here if: You are using Texty for the first time and want a quick overview of how everything works.

Install and activate Texty directly from your WordPress dashboard.

This guide also covers the requirements for running Texty and how to install Texty Pro if you need automations, OTP verification, or SMS consent tools.

Start here if: You understand Texty but have not installed it on your site yet.

Texty needs an SMS gateway before it can send messages.

Connect one of the supported providers:

  • Twilio
  • Vonage
  • Plivo
  • Clickatell

You will add your gateway credentials, activate the provider, and send a test SMS to confirm the connection works.

Start here if: Texty is already installed and you are ready to send SMS.

Once your gateway is connected and your test SMS arrives, the basic Texty setup is complete.

You can then choose what you want to configure next:

  • Turn on WordPress or WooCommerce SMS notifications
  • Notify Dokan vendors about order updates
  • Customize SMS messages and recipients
  • Review SMS activity and delivery results
  • Set up Texty Pro automations
  • Verify phone numbers with OTP
  • Collect SMS consent at checkout

Recommended next step: Turn on one notification and create the matching event, such as a test WooCommerce order. Then check the phone and Texty > SMS Logs to confirm the full workflow works.

If Texty is installed but your SMS is not sending, do not change multiple settings at once.

Start by sending a test SMS and checking Texty > SMS Logs. The result can help you identify whether the issue is with your gateway, sender, account, phone number, or Texty configuration.
